I found this morning exercise unsuccessful as I was the only member of my team to carry out any diversifying thoughts on my own 5 word sentence, no one else added any. But I had added extensive notes to the other sentences, often working off my own prompts. Here I shall carry out a more extensive practice of the ”technique” as I as an individual follow a similar thought process as illustrated, I just do not visualise it in this manner, thus I find this practice useful.

A lot of the resulting imagery became the best attempt at being inoffensive.
Also as I have found the language used around the subject of Alzheimer’s interesting and something i will at least add to my development, this will hopefully add to that aspect of the project.
Much of the language, and through this practice (with the use of thesaurus) i have found the language around alzheimers to be extremely sensitive and sugar coated. This reflects that often Alzheimers patients have responsibilities taken away from them once diagnosed leaving them feeling less useful. It acts as a safety net for them leaving those around them, more at ease knowing they won't have to worry about them, but as a knock on effect they have their initiative taken away, making them almost entirely dependent on those around them. This often has a knock on effect with their mental health.
Its dehumanising s these individuals are treated with such care that comes form a place of treating them as less capable and lesser in other aspects as a result. Action and effort should be taken to help them thrive in their own environment without loss of the individual, effectively dehumanising them.
