Paper- “Speculative Realism: An Introduction” by Graham Harman —

—while admittedly I did not grasp all of the concepts proposed I did find useful for this project the exploration of mutual correlation between thinking and being and how this effect everything we perceive. Specifically, our relationships with objects as a result and to what extent they exist, beyond what we perceive.

Recently I watched the “SavagexFenty” shows that are a collaboration of fashion, dance, music and art, and as the media we consume affects us and what we produce I thought it as important to at least note it. it is a show that pushes diversity in a scene, lingerie, that rarely sees it. Victoria Secret for example has exclusively championed “the ideal body type” by exclusively choosing women who are slim, toned and tall, predominantly with white heritage, and thus white features. With Rihanna‘s show she pushes inclusion of all whist also exhibiting clothes in a way that has not been seen before. Where most fashion runways are minimal in their look and colour palette in order to not take attention away from the clothing, everything stands out in the “SavagexFenty” show, harsh contrast in the colours is used to draw the eye to the clothing along with dance, that is more contemporary.
